Nyingarn Koorda Djinanginy is a story about a little nyingarn (echidna) who wanted a friend but was too spiky for all the other animals. A yonga (kangaroo), karda (goanna) and weitj (emu) all ran away from the nyingarn. It wasn’t until the nyingarn found another nyingarn and they both became friends, that they lived happily ever after. This story is about knowing your worth and not trying to impress people who don’t appreciate you. Aunty Marie encourages Steven and Ivy to be accepting and kind to people no matter where they come from or what they look like.
