Common Ground had a huge 2024! A year of "first-evers" and continuing projects – we're excited to reflect and celebrate some of our community's incredible achievements.

In our journey to change systems through storytelling this year, we:

  • Launched Dreamy Season 2 and two learning kits, making mindful First Nations stories more accessible to listeners across homes, classrooms and workplaces.
  • Celebrated five years of storytelling through First Nations Bedtime Stories and connecting with thousands of educators, students and families.
  • Welcomed a new generation of Creators Circle storytellers and went on a special travelling Creators Circle gathering from Mparntwe to Kurku to Uluru.
  • Brought this year's NAIDOC theme, Keep the Fire Burning!, to life through a learning resource.
  • Introduced Grounded Story, our first-ever grant round supporting early-stage First Nations creatives to share a storytelling project linked to spirit.
  • Released the 2024-2030 Common Ground Strategy placing First Nations communities and the power of storytelling at the centre of our work.
  • Received our first-ever NAIDOC award nomination in the innovation category– recognising our work in amplifying First Nations voices and storytelling to drive systems change.

It was a big year of connection, creativity and meaningful storytelling to change systems and we look forward to continuing this journey with you in the new year.
