Seed Mob are building a movement of First Nations young people for climate justice. Their vision is for a just and sustainable future with strong cultures and communities, powered by renewable energy.
Through their work, Seed build the capacity of First Nations young people and communities to lead the fight for climate justice including the Don't frack the Kimberley campaign.
Our Islands, Our Homes is a campaign led by Torres Strait Islander people to protect their island homes. In 2022, they won a historic legal fight against the Australian Government for inaction on climate change. Part of this is five calls to:
Firesticks is a national Indigenous network that empowers communities to protect and enhance Country and wellbeing by reviving cultural knowledge practices.
Through this, Firesticks provide learning tools for communities to lead and determine the best way forward to manage and heal their own Country.
They also support community through mentoring and research opportunities.
Youth Verdict are a grounp of young people leading legal actions to protect Country, culture and human rights. In 2022 they won a legal case against Clive Palmer – the first time a coal mine has been challenged on human rights grounds, centring First Nations people.
A core focus on their work is growing grassroots power and solidarity among First Nations groups on the frontlines of fossil fuel extraction and those experiencing the worst impacts of climate change.
Gudanji for Country is a grassroots First Nations environmental protection organisation formed to help elevate the voices of the Kurrunjini Rrumburriya clan, in speaking for and caring for Country.
Through their work, they are fighting to protect Country from the damaging effects of overgrazing, mining, and now fracking.
They also work to elevate the voices of other First Nations and their own struggles.
